Volunteering

The parks and recreation department has many ways to be involved through volunteering.  Every year we sponsor 8-10 volunteer work days throughout the park system.  Historically, volunteer work days have consisted of invasive species removal, trail development, planting trees and general clean-up.

Groups / Organizations
Whether you are Boy/Girl Scout Troop, homeschool group, church or Fortune 500 Company, we can customize a volunteer work event for your group.  Park and recreation staff will meet with leaders to determine the group’s needs and devise and implement a plan to provide a great experience for your group and the town.

Eagle Scout Projects
The parks and recreation department keeps a list of potential projects for individuals desiring to complete their Eagle Scout Leadership Project with the Town of Menasha.  Parks and recreation staff will sit down and discuss potential projects and ideas with the scout.  As part of the process, the scout must put together a proposal and present the idea during a park and recreation commission meeting.  Once approved, the scout is then responsible for coordinating the work and supplies needed to complete the project.

For more information on volunteer work days or to customize an event, please contact the parks and recreation department at (920) 720-7108.
