PATROL The patrol division is the backbone of the police department. The patrol officers working the “street” are responsible for handling a majority of the emergency and non-emergency calls that we receive.
Patrol is a rather unique area of police work in that an officer never knows what they will encounter at any given time. An officer may go from helping a person unlock their vehicle to breaking up a fight. That is in addition to enforcing the traffic laws. Our officers patrol over 100 miles of town roads in addition to keeping an eye on the over 150,000 vehicles using US Highways 10, 41 and State Highway 441 each day |
