Be Prepared to Show Photo I.D. When Voting

You will be asked to show acceptable Photo Identification when voting at the polls on Election Day, and when voting by absentee ballot (in person and by mail).

EXEMPT:

  • Military voters
  • Permanent Overseas voters.
  • and Confidential voters.

Residents in assisted living and care facilities who are served by special voting deputies do not need to show photo identification; the SVDs will verify your name and address instead of viewing your photo ID. Voters who certify they are indefinitely confined can choose to provide photo I.D. with their ballot request, but are not required to do so; the witness to your absentee ballot will verify your name and address as listed on the certificate envelope.
