The Town of Menasha is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker in the Water Department.
Job Description
The purpose of this position is to maintain water distribution systems and assist in operation and maintenance of the water treatment plants, towers and reservoirs for the Town of Menasha Utility District. Work includes the installation, maintenance and repair of water mains, water services, water meters, fire hydrants, valves and valve boxes, and sewer laterals, reservoirs, salt and brine tanks, assists with the general plumbing and building maintenance at water treatment plants, well houses, pumping equipment and water softening equipment.
Other duties include collection of water samples, locates leaks in the water system, taps and installs new water service laterals, customer service, vehicle maintenance and maintenance of heavy equipment, pumps and generators. Operates heavy equipment and trucks, performs grounds maintenance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with two to three years of repair and maintenance experience in plumbing, mechanics, construction, equipment operation or a related trade. Requires a valid CDL license. Must obtain DNR Groundwater, Water Distribution, Zeolite Softening certifications with two years of hire. Must possess Confined Space Entry and Rescue certification. Wage: Dependent upon qualifications.
