Wastewater Utility

The Wastewater Department maintains over 120 miles of sewer mains, serving the Town of Menasha and parts of the cities of Neenah, Menasha, and Appleton and the towns of Neenah and Harrison.

The department maintains two collection systems, but does not treat its sewage. The East side sewage flows to the Neenah-Menasha Sewerage Plant, and sewage from the West side goes to the Grand Chute Menasha West Sewerage Plant for treatment. Both plants are governed by regional commissions.

The department also operates and maintains eight (8) lift stations. A SCADA (Supervisory Control Data Acquisition) system monitors flows and levels and our operators can make changes remotely.

The 120 miles of sewer mains follow a four year cleaning goal maintained by the wastewater crew.
