Board of Review

The Board of Review is the first step in the formal appeal process for an individual property owner who protests an assessed value.  The property owner cannot pursue subsequent avenues of appeal for an individual assessed value unless a formal objection has first been made to the Board of Review.

The Board of Review is made up of the Town Supervisors.  The Board of Review is not an assessing body, but a quasi-judicial body whose duty it is to hear sworn, oral testimony regarding assessed values.  Based only on that testimony, the Board must decide whether an individual has proven the Assessor’s value incorrect.

More information on the appeal process can be found in the Property Assessment Appeal Guide For Wisconsin Real Property Owners .
