There is a critical need for the construction of a second parallel bridge over Little Lake Butte Des Morts and reconstruction of US 10/WIS 441 from County Hwy CB  Oneida Street to incorporate additional lanes and a full interchange. 

 

This section of highway experiences a high number of accidents due to its design. Responding to any accidents, stalled vehicles or debris on this section of highway compromises the safety of citizens and emergency response personnel that respond to these events. 

 

The lack of a full interchange has delayed development that would create greater values that would directly benefit the Fox Valley and the State of Wisconsin. This project is vital to the Fox Valley area and the State of Wisconsin to ensure safe and convenient traffic flow as traffic counts in the year 2000 ranged from 39,000 to 60,000 vehicles per day along existing US 10 & WI 441 and from 75,000 to 83,000 per day along existing U.S. 41.  These high traffic counts coupled with even minor events on the WI 441 bridge creates traffic backups on the whole U.S. 10, 41 and WI 441 interchange area.

 

I feel it is imperative that the state move ahead as quickly as possible to complete this project so that this critical situation does not get worse.
