THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA

We were fortunate enough to be able to purchase one Thermal Imaging Camera for our Fire Department in November of 1998, all made possible through the generous donations by businesses and citizens in the Town of Menasha.  We thank each and every one of them for their contributions and time they spent helping us achieve our goal to make this possible.  This is one of the most important tools we have available to us in helping save lives, property, and time.

The camera we purchased is the K90 Talisman Thermal Imaging Camera.  It weighs 4 pounds, is waterproof, has 3-4 hour usage per battery, has wireless transmitter capability, video overlay, no saturation or whiteout, on-screen temperature read out, and internal electric coolers.  It has High Definition infrared reproduction and filtering system to offer the best picture quality of any TIC available today.

As we are able to use this piece of equipment more and more, we will post some of the ways in which it has helped us.  Look here for updates often.  We are confident that this will be very valuable to the department and will someday save a life.  And it is our goal for the future to purchase another one so we are able to have one available at each station.
