The Commission meeting was not held due to the lack of a quorum. Discussion followed with the attendees that came on September 8, 2004.
PUBLIC FORUM and / or CORRESPONDENCE
Terry Gant, Neenah-Menasha Optimists Paddle Center is requesting and exploring the option of having the Park and Recreation Department purchase a portion of the Fritse Park gazebo and boat docks. He recommends that the gazebo also be used for future park programs. Kippenhan Park neighborhood planning committee members; Pam Seidl, Linda Swanson and Lori Fulcer support the request for this gazebo use.
Pam Seidl, and other neighbors from Louise Road near Kippenhan Park formed a neighborhood park committee. The Committee is interested in requesting improvements to this area park. Their assessment of children in the neighborhood under the age of 21 reflects 96 kids. Their request is to have the playground equipment updated. They wanted to express their support for the expenses of this upgrade in the 2005 budget discussions.
Cal Tesch, Palisades Athletics noted that the Palisades Board meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center.
The membership suggested a special meeting on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. This special meeting will review and accept the budget before the Town Board deliberates the Park Department budget.
The next regularly scheduled Park Commission meeting will be Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 6:30 p.m.
Sincerely,
Judy R. Holtz
Secretary Park Commission
