MINUTES

1) CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Town Chair Arden Tews called the Regular Meeting of the Town Board of Supervisors to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

a) Presentation of Certificate to Robert Sprague: Supv. Sprague was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for his 10 yrs. as town supervisor and his 4 yrs. as town clerk by Chairman Tews.

b) Virchow Krause – Fiscal Year 2002 Audit Report:

Mr. Tom Scheidegger, CPA from Virchow-Krause reviewed the town’s audit with board members, (see financial graphs attached).

MOTION: Sprague/Handevidt to adopt to approve as submitted. Motion carried.

MOTION: Handevidt/Sprague to adopt to approve the expenditures with the exception of (none) as submitted. Motion carried.

c) 030407-3: Two-Year Bar Operators Licenses Issued

MOTION: Sprague/Handevidt to adopt to approve as submitted. Motion carried.

d) 030407-4: Out-of-State Training – Deputy Chief Phillips, Emmitsburg, Maryland

MOTION: Sprague/Handevidt to adopt to approve as submitted. Motion carried.

MOTION: Sprague/Handevidt to adopt to approve as submitted. Motion carried.

a) Election Results – April 1, 2003

MOTION: Handevidt/Hanson to accept the correspondence for filing as submitted. Motion carried.

11) REPORTS

a) Town Administrator James Archambo: Teamster’s Union meeting on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.; General Union meeting on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.; Annual Town meeting tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m.; Park Commission meeting Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.; Spring Organizational meeting this Saturday, at 9:00 a.m.

Admin. Archambo read the attached e-mail thanking all for their support from re-elected Judge Kachinsky who is serving in the military.

d) Town Board

Robert Sprague, Supv. #2: thanked the town board and staff for their assistance during his terms of office as Clerk and Supervisor for the Town of Menasha.

Russ Handevidt, Supv. #4: requested staff to use their computer spell-checks when writing memos, reports, etc.

e) Town Chairman Arden Tews: received complaints from Peter Gutenberg regarding train noise; Urban Town’s workshop on Saturday, Apr. 26 in Fond du Lac; Green Valley detention pond t/Neenah update.

f) Other Town Officials

Comm. Dev. Dir, George Dearborn: congratulated Peter Fetters upon receipt of his Plumbing Certification and completion of the Radon Training Program.

Fire Chief Keith Kiesow: update on the remodeling at Station #41.

Police Chief Rod McCants: reported new employees Angie Oppor & Seely Moe have started their duties for the town; stated Intern Ashley Ziepke was nominated for the Explorer program through the Girl Scouts.
