MINUTES
Town Chair Arden Tews called the Regular Meeting of the Town Board of Supervisors to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Deputy Police Chief Rod McCants introduced new Police Lt. Tim Seaver to the audience. He was welcomed by the town board members.
Arden Schroeder requested the town to allow for temporary off-premises signs for businesses on CTH “CB” due to road construction. Chairman Tews called a Special meeting for Thursday, June 27 at 5:30 and to have a resolution prepared to allow temporary signs.
Res. Paul Dahms made complaint of weeds on American Drive and CTH “CB”.
Res. Dewayne Buss, Harbor Lights complained of no on-site manager at the Mobile Home Park.
Res. Anita Babcock, Harbor Lights made complaint of tree damaged in the June 11, 2001 storm and in need of cutting down due to danger of falling, possibly injuring someone.

MOTION: Supv. Handevidt, second Supv. Sprague to adopt to approve the expenditures with the exception of (none), as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the resolution as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION: Resolution Withdrawn at the request of Geo. Dearborn due to a change in claim procedures.
g) 020624-7: Annual Alcohol Beverage License – Club West
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the resolution as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
h) 020624-8: Annual Mobile Home Licenses – Jim’s Friendly Village and Bridgeview Gardens
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the resolution as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
i) 020624-9: Annual Mobile Home License – Harbor Lights
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to REFER the license of Harbor Lights until July 22nd in order to give management time to find an on-site manager.
j) 020624-10: Annual Fermented Malt Beverage License – Asian Taste, LLC
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the resolution as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
k) 020624-11: Annual Amusement License – Asian Taste, LLC
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Handevidt to adopt to approve the resolution as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
l) 020624-12: Out of State Training – G.R.E.A.T. Program Recertification - Wittman

THIRD READING AND ADOPTION
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Handevidt to accept the adoption of the ordinance as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
b) 020624-1:ORD Municipal Code Chapter 9 Section 9.025 – Transient Merchants
FIRST READING, SECOND READING AND ADOPTION
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Jurgensen to waive the first and second reading of the ordinance and adopt as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
c) 020624-2:ORD Municipal Code Chapter 9 Section 9.01 – Intoxicating Liquor and Fermented Beverages FIRST READING
MOTION: Supv. Sprague, second Supv. Handevidt to accept the first reading of the ordinance and adopt as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

a) 020624-1:APPT Communications Technician – Temporary – Carla Hales
MOTION: Supv. Handevidt, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the appointment as submitted. Motion carried 4-1, with Supv. Sprague voting NAY.
b) 020624-2:APPT Communications Technician – Kathleen Schumacher
MOTION: Supv. Handevidt, second Supv. Jurgensen to adopt to approve the appointment as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Dir. of Comm. Dev., George Dearborn 1) gave update on the Tom Gritton drainage complaint (see attached); 2) update regarding the Hwy. 114 speed limit stating he planned to write a letter to the State with recommendations for speed consistency for all communities involved.
Lee Riebold, Town Engineer 1) update on the Cold Spring & Jacobsen Rds. projects; 2) update on the Green Valley Ditch stating McMahon is waiting for soil reports.
Dir. of Finance Myra Piergrossi 1) update on the HTE training; 2) update on the cash drawer.
Assessor Richard Eiberger 1) update of the town’s Roll Book; 2) update on the American Dr. land acquisition and informed the board members of the 8-week wait due to cut backs at the DNR and asked if he should continue with the project. It was the consensus of the board members to have Assessor Eiberger wait until permits were ready.
Police Commission Pres., Mike Lettier 1) read a letter to the board members announcing the commission’s decision to appoint Dep. Police Chief, Rod McCants to the position of Police Chief effective August 1, 2002.
