COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

* * The meeting was held at the Community Center and was
called to order by Richard Gawinski, President, at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and roll
call taken.
MOTION: Commissioner Kuehn, seconded Commissioner Peterson to approve the minutes of
The Commissioners reviewed the expenditure list in the amount of $6,758.10. MOTION: Commissioner Allen, seconded Commissioner Horn to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
A. Anna Hayes – O’Hauser Park Tournament Parking
Resident Anna Hayes from
After much discussion it was pointed out that future
reservations during tournament weekends at this park should come forewarned
that parking would be available on a very limited basis. Ms. Hayes also inquired about having more
handicapped parking available. The
Commission agreed that if there was a need, temporary signs could be placed for
these events.
BECKY'S
REPORT
Becky Thone, Recreation Supervisor had presented a report. The report included field trips and current classes being held. Music in the Park and Animals of the Rainforest were events coming soon. The community center also received a $1,000 donation for the outdoor sign from AZCO Incorporated. The tentative schedule for the fall recreation programs will be distributed the week of Labor Day.
RON'S
REPORT
Park Foreman, Ronald Pavlak had presented the Director’s
report. The tennis courts resurfacing
request for bids is scheduled for August 1 at
Ron has met with several electrical contractors
obtaining bids and proposals for more lighting at the community center activity
room. A report should be complete for
the next Park Commission meeting.

The need to mow lawns has slowed down, and allowed
several maintenance and landscaping projects to be completed. Sand has been deposited under most of the
playground equipment at several parks.
Foreman Pavlak continued on the discussion for the
preparation of the 2003 budget. The park
department has a 1991 lawn mower that will need replacing. The purchase of the mower will include the
trade in difference. The commissioners
agreed that a new mower is in line for our 2003 budget schedule.
Foreman Pavlak had met with Commissioner Zaborsky
and Randall Maurer for the proposed nature park needs and grant applications
were discussed. Mr. Maurer will research
the grant institutions and a report will be forthcoming.
NEW
BUSINESS
Commissioner Allen mentioned that a few Commissioners and the Director should be present when discussing the property needs around O’Hauser Park.
