* * The meeting was held at the Municipal Complex and
was called to order by Richard Gawinski, President, at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and roll call taken.
MOTION: Commissioner Holtz, seconded Commissioner Kuehn to approve the minutes of
The Commissioners reviewed the expenditure list. Director Krueger stated that the expenditure
was changed just recently to include a new stove and refrigerator at $230.00

Donald W. Wilmot, Winnebago County Emergency
Management had requested the placement of a emergency
siren at the
RON'S REPORT
Director Krueger discussed the recent storm damage
to the Community Center. He estimates
the hail damage to the air conditioner fins on the Community Center to be
repaired for approximately $178.50.
Since the Town has a $500 deductible it would not pay to file an
insurance claim.

Maurer had met with the Director and will research some options for the
development of the proposed “nature park”.
There had been discussion whether the Town could lease out the cropland
to a farmer to produce crops. These
monies will offset the Town’s levy.
Director Krueger stated that Appleton Sign Company
is installing the sign in front of the Community Center at
The park staff will assist Palisades Athletics with
taking down the scoreboard. There are
individual sponsors who will assist with the expenses of the scoreboard. We are also interested in removing the
concrete from the old dugout which was damaged in the 2001 storm. Hopefully, we will be able to get at it when
the land dries up some to allow for heavy equipment to enter the park
property.
Discussion ensued about the size of Town parks and
the development of future subdivision with remnant parcels. The Park Commission would like to review each
individual parcel which will be proposed for use as park land.
Commissioner Horn inquired if the Parks
Comprehensive 5-Year Plan would need to updated to
show these subdivision submission requirements.
Director Krueger will inquire with Community Development Dearborn about
this issue. Director Kreuger
said that the state statutes will protects the parks and suggest a review
process for acceptance for park land.
BECKY'S REPORT - Mary Heiting, Bookkeeper read the report
presented by Becky Thone, Recreation Supervisor. It was noted that Carrie Stroud the
Recreation Assistant will be starting late May.
Carried is starting her 4th year with the Town in this
position. The orientation meeting for
all park leaders is scheduled for June 12th, and
this year there will be a special presentation.
The presentations will be given by Mike Tedford, an EMT
from the Fire Department and training from the child care Resource &
Referral of
Commissioner Bolwerk has given her resignation from
the park commission. Commissioner
Bolwerk has served on the Park Commission from
Motion Commissioner Kuehn, seconded Commissioner
Horn to adjourn the
