COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was held at the Community Center and was
called to order by Richard Gawinski, President, at
MOTION: Commissioner Kuehn,
seconded Commissioner Allen to approve the minutes of
The Commissioners received an updated expenditure list that was reviewed. The expenses were presented in the amount of $15,999.09. MOTION: Commissioner Allen, seconded Commissioner Kuehn to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

BUSINESS
Suburban Athletics
Roy Buchholtz, Vice President Suburban Athletics
approached the Commission and discussed the projects Suburban Athletics would
like to complete at O’Hauser Park. Suburban
Athletics requested permission to install an outdoor soda machine. The machine would face the road and dispense plastic
soda bottles. He felt this would be a
good source of income for the frisbee golf enthusiasts
and park users. The Commissioners were
in approval of this project.
Ronald Pavlak, Foreman stated there are a number of
projects in the area, and can include a concrete slab for placement of the soda
machines.
RON'S REPORT - Director Krueger stated
that the custodian, Rick Coenen is working part time for the Community Center
starting April 1. There have been staff
meetings and all employees are aware of the upcoming events and exchanging
emails about what is needed for these rentals.
Director Krueger had discussions with Mark Meyer with
the City of
Mary Heiting, Bookkeeper received a request to have
a 4 piece band named the “Country Gentlemen” play at a 50th wedding
anniversary on July 27th at O’Hauser South. MOTION: Commissioner Horn, seconded by
Commissioner Holtz to approve the request for this band at O’Hauser Park.
Director Krueger had a meeting with Finance Director
Myra Piergrossi. The Finance Director
would like to eliminate the Park Department checking account to save money on
check ordering and maintenance of the checking account.
MOTION: Commissioner Kuehn, seconded by Commissioner
Allen to retain the process of paying invoices from the park checking account
with the preprinted park checks. Motion
carried unanimously.
The park staff has been busy with the repairs to the
Hwy. CB trail. They have temporarily
repaired the settling with cold mix but will need something more permanent in
the future.
Foreman, Ron Pavlak has been busy with ordering
trees and shrubs to replace some of the damage of the
Meetings have been conducted jointly with the City
in an effort to create a reciprocal agreement.
Director Krueger felt progress has been made, but currently there is no reciprocal
agreement with the City of
BECKY'S REPORT - Mary Heiting, Bookkeeper reported that the
spring programs are underway. The Bridge
issue of
Richard Gawinski, President then addressed the
Commissioners about the dates for the spring tour of the parks. It was determined that the date for the west
side tour would start April 24. An
agenda will be presented and posted for notification.
Further discussion ensued about the nature
park. There have been meetings to
prepare a plan to include what was needed.
The presentation would include a break down of material and labor. It was then discussed how to seek sponsorship
for each individual necessity.
