SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Municipal Complex - Assembly Room

MINUTES

Agendas were posted at the Municipal Complex, Fire Station 40, Utility District, Appleton Public Library, Menasha Public Library, and Neenah Public Library.

I. CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND ROLL CALL

Town Chair Arden Tews called the Special Meeting of the Town Board of Supervisors to order at 8:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Town Clerk Carlene Sprague noted the roll as follows:

PRESENT:

Arden Tews, Town Chair Jeanne Krueger, Supervisor #1

Bob Sprague, Supervisor #2 Jerry Jurgensen, Supervisor #3

Wm. Frueh, Interim Administrator Carlene L. Sprague, Town Clerk

EXCUSED:

Allen Nennig, Supervisor #4

ALSO PRESENT:

Denise Frueh

II. DISCUSSION

Review of Prospective Applicants with Public Administration Associates, LLC for the Replacement of Personnel

III. MOTIONS BY SUPERVISORS

MOTION: Supervisor Sprague, second Supervisor Jurgensen to adjourn into closed session pursuant 19.85(c) of the Wisconsin State Statutes; considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employe over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried unanimously with Supervisor Nennig excused.

Clerk Sprague attended the informal gathering in the employee break room where prospective candidates were interviewed by department heads. Clerk Sprague was not present during the closed session.

IV. MOTIONS BY SUPERVISORS - OPEN SESSION

Pursuant to 19.85(2) of the Wisconsin State Statutes; the Town Board may reconvene into open session to act on any business discussed in closed session.

MOTION: Supervisor Sprague, second Supervisor Jurgensen to reconvene into open session. Motion carried unanimously with Supervisor Nennig excused.

An informal discussion took place between department heads and the Town Board regarding the pros and cons of each applicant. Bill and Denise Frueh were directed by the Town Board to attempt to negotiate a contract to hire Patrick DeGrave as the new Town of Menasha Administrator.

IV. ADJOURNMENT

At 1:10 p.m., MOTION: Supervisor Sprague, second Supervisor Jurgensen to adjourn the Special Meeting of the Town Board of Supervisors. Motion carried unanimously with Supervisor Nennig excused.
