Voter Registration

Voter Registration Application

To find out whether you are registered to vote in the Town of Menasha, see the State of Wisconsin Voter Public Access website.  If you are already registered but moved within the Town of Menasha, you must re-register.

Name changes require re-registration. This can be accomplished by providing a form of identification with your new name and current address.

To Get Registered

Electors must provide a current valid Wisconsin driver license number if they have one.

If you have not been issued a Wisconsin driver license or Wisconsin ID, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number to get registered. (NOTE: The voter CANNOT use the last 4 digits of their Social Security number if he or she has been issued a Wisconsin driver license).

One other option is available if you do not possess a current, valid Wisconsin driver license, Wisconsin ID card, or Social Security number, by indicating that you have neither.

THE REGISTRATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL THE ELECTOR PROVIDES THIS INFORMATION.

If you possess a valid Wisconsin driver license but do not know the number and did not bring it to the polling place, you may vote a provisional ballot. The provisional ballot will not be counted until you either:

a)      bring your driver license number to the polling place before polls close at 8 pm on Election Day, or;

b)      transmit (by fax, e-mail, phone, in-person) your driver license number to the municipal clerk before 4 pm on the Friday after the election.

Proof of Residence is required when registering to vote.  Registration is required only once as long as you are a regular voter. If you have not voted in over four years, a post card will be mailed to you asking whether you would like to remain on the registered voter list.

There are three options to register:

1.       BY MAIL:  Complete and mail in the Voter Registration Application  to the Town Clerk’s office. (First-time voters who have not voted in Wisconsin must also send a photocopy of an acceptable identifying document that provides Proof of Residence . The registration application must be postmarked no later than 5 pm on the 20th day (3rd Wednesday) before the election.

2.     IN PERSON:  Complete a Voter Registration Application in the Clerk’s office up to 5 pm on the Friday before the election. When late registration ends, you may register again on Election Day.

Please bring your Proof of Residence with you to get registered; without proof you will not be allowed to register, therefore may not vote.

You will be required to provide the most recent address where you were previously registered to vote.

3.     AT THE POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY:

Election Day registrants must complete a Voter Registration Application and provide Proof of Residence (a photo is not required for proof of residence).

The applicant must list a current and valid Wisconsin driver license number or Wisconsin ID number on the application, if you have one.  If the voter has such a number and refuses to give it, the Voter Registration Application form cannot be accepted and therefore may not vote.

The last four (4) digits of your Social Security number is acceptable if a driver license or state ID has never been issued to you.
