The Community Development Department is made up of the Planning Division and the Inspection Division.  Our purpose is to encourage high quality development and to preserve and enhance the high quality of life that all residents enjoy in the Town.  This is accomplished through the coordination of all development within and surrounding the Town.

The Community Development Department is responsible for:

Reviewing all new commercial and residential developments, rezoning, variances, conditional use permits, and use permits.

Inspecting and permitting all construction activities & enforcing building, plumbing, HVAC and electrical codes

Stormwater and erosion control

Economic development, grant preparation and management

Comprehensive Planning

Land Information Services including GIS (Geographic Information System), Town maps, and land information records
