PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Bellmer called the Planning Commission Special Meeting of August 23, 2006 to order at 5:32 PM.

OLD ITEMS OF BUSINESS:

  1. B-5 Conditional Use Permit – Bayland Buildings – Menasha Shell – 1370 Jacobsen Road – 008-0240-01

Department of Community Development Director George Dearborn introduced the item.

 

David O’Brien, of Bayland Buildings, stated that the plans/elevations are the same except the material has changed to a fiberstone material to meet the zoning ordinance.

 

Chairperson Bellmer asked about the colors.

 

Scott LeFerve, part-owner, stated that the tan will match the existing EFIS color.

 

Associate Planner Mark Mommaerts distributed to the Commission a photo mock-up of the exterior façade. 

 

MOTION:  Chairperson Bellmer, seconded by Commissioner Buck to approve the façade modification fiberstone material and design as shown on the mockup as “Attachment A” with the following conditions:

  • The area on the front façade on the right side of the doors and windows shall be brick.
  • The west elevation shall be as shown on “Attachment A” except that the red fiberstone material may extend up to the crown molding.  In the event that the red fiberstone material and the brick are architecturally unacceptable as determined by Community Development Staff, the applicant may use tan fiberstone material in place of the brick, and the tan color shall match the existing tan color on the building.
  • The eastern tenant spaces shall have an arching top to match that on the western tenant space.
  • There shall be awnings on the east façade that match the awnings on the west façade in terms of material, color, shape and size.

 

Motion carried 5-0-2.

MOTION:  Chairperson Bellmer, seconded by Commissioner Sable to adjourn the special meeting of August 23, 2006 at 6:05 PM.  Motion carried 5-0-2.
