Economic Development

The Town of Menasha is strategically located in East Central Wisconsin in the heart of the Fox River Valley.  The Town is one of seventeen communities that comprise the Appleton-Neenah-Oshkosh Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), the third largest and fastest growing metropolitan area in the State of Wisconsin.  The Town is the second largest township in the State of Wisconsin with a population of 18,498.  The Town is home to several Fortune 500 industries including:  Kimberly-Clark, Pierce Manufacturing, Hayes Manufacturing, Outlook Graphics, Wisconsin Tissue Mills, Neenah Paper, and Warehouse Specialist.

Business Assistance

  • Technical Assistance: There are many sources of help for the business community.  Among them are the Fox Valley Technical College, the Fox Valley Technical College E-Seed program, Advocap, the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, SCORE of the United States Small Business Association, Workforce Development Board, and the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce.  These programs help with training, mentoring, providing demographics and statistics, writing business plans, and networking.

  • Grants and Funding: Opportunities can be found through the following organizations: Winnebago County Industrial Development Board, the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce, and SCORE of the United States Small Business Association.

    The Town of Menasha has six industrial/commercial parks with available sites:

    • Gateway Development: 160+ acres, is a development located along West American Drive and is serviced by Hwy 10, U.S. Hwy 41 and County Road CB.  This development includes a 140 lot residential subdivision and 400 units of high end rental.  An office park and a retail center that will incorporate a grocery store and other supporting retail uses are anticipated.  Click here for more information.

    • Parkside West Business Center: 40 acres, which is serviced by County Road II, U.S. Hwy 41, and County Road CB, zoned for light manufacturing and office.  Road, Sewer and Water available.  Click here for more information.

    • Rail:  Wisconsin Central Railroad, which is located near several industrial sites with rail spurs serving some of the sites.

  • Schools
    The Town is served by the Appleton Joint School District, Menasha Joint School District, Neenah School District, and is home to St. Mary’s High School.  The Town is also in close proximity to Lawrence University, University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley, University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and the Fox Valley Technical College.
